I was lucky enough to learn the most valuable essentials of photography at the hands of the man I consider one of the finest artistic photographers in the world, my father, who by an odd coincidence, is also named Michael Rodak. I still seek and value his opinion of my work. The many evenings we spent together in his darkroom creating images were magical to me as a child and set me on a career I love.

My interest in fashion comes from my mother Tessie who is still a very stylish woman. My mother would sew her own clothes and I, being a nosy child, demanded she tell me everything she was doing and why. She always did and now my skill as a women's stylist is highly regarded.

My passion for photography has given me many exciting opportunities to create some remarkable images. I served in the U.S. Navy Submarine Force for eight years which allowed me to travel and photograph around the world (though not always in the most ideal circumstances). Several of my photos make it into naval publications and two were used in the Tom Clancy book "Submarine" under the pseudonym, "Official U.S. Navy Photo".

My time in the Navy allowed me to discover that I love to shoot people. Maybe I should rephrase that to, "I love to photograph people." Once I left the Navy I knew that portrait and fashion photography would be my life's work. Portraits because people fascinate me, and fashion because clothing and style are fun.

I graduated from the Art Institute of Seattle thanks to the G.I. Bill and double majored in both Portrait and Fashion Photography.

My studio is located in Seattle, Washington. I've worked hard to earn a reputation as an excellent portrait and fashion photographer and take a great deal of pride in the many referrals I get from friends of clients who value exceptional customer service. Naturally, this level of quality service is not for everyone. However, the results will be well worth the investment.
